At Smart Fitness By Lisa, Workouts Are Smarter, Not Harder

By S. Mathur

Personal trainer Lisa Walsh considers this career to be the second act of her life.

"After having three children, I decided it was time to get back into shape so I could enjoy my family for years to come," she said. "With a genetic history of cardiovascular disease in my family, I knew that I had to create a healthy balanced lifestyle. After seeing such great results, I decided to help others to seek a healthy lifestyle for busy women."

She became a certified personal trainer at the age of 40 and earned additional certifications in sports nutrition and senior fitness. Services include offers personal training, fat loss and body toning programs for clients of all ages, from teens to seniors. Walsh is based on Doylestown, PA but also covers Warrington, Horsham and surrounding areas.

Along with 30-minute, personalized workouts at home, Walsh offers nutritional guidance and metabolic conditioning.

"I understand how it seems difficult for some women to reach out for help to learn more about fitness," she said. "I give them the support they need by providing them with a whole-body approach to fitness by balancing hormones, stress management, nutrition support, along with strength and conditioning training. If you are not managing things like stress and sleep, that will have a negative impact on your weight and overall health."

The 30-minute workouts are required for only three days a week. This means that clients work smarter, not harder. The workouts are also fun, to maintain motivation.

"As a fitness professional, I coach my clients with a variety of workouts to keep the program interesting and fun," Walsh said. "I always tell my clients that we will have fun with each workout. At the end of our sessions, they agree that they had a workout that was designed to be challenging and fun too. I incorporate a variety of moves for a complete full body workout."

The training can happen in private or small group training sessions. Both have an empowering, positive environment. Walsh says that her teaching style is geared towards teaching women of all ages to burn fat and tone muscle. Nutritional guidance is an important part of the training. Walsh provides a nutrition program by way of a closed Facebook page. This includes motivational articles, nutrition guidelines, recipes and weekly food journals reviewed by Walsh. The nutrition program can be followed in person or online.

Clients report success in losing weight, and discover that they have more energy as well. They also praise Walsh's motivational skills, and find that the nutrition program is a practical one, unlike most others.
