Body Precision Pilates Changes Lives For The Better In Rosemont, Pennsylvania

By Paul Rowe

In 1994 a person very close to Beth Downey discovered Pilates in Sydney, and after practicing Pilates 2-3 times per week, his chronic back problem disappeared. After he raved about the benefits of Pilates and its efficient treatment of back and joint pain, Downey started to pay attention. A year later, the two opened Body Precision Pilates together in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Downey was certified by The Pilates Center of Boulder in 1997, completing one of the most comprehensive and challenging training programs in the country. Just a year later, Downey developed her renowned Pilates Teacher Training Program.

"For me, Pilates was a way to improve my posture and gain flexibility and strength. I loved being a Pilates Instructor and being a small business entrepreneur," Downey said. "I eventually became the sole owner and love passing on this work to my clients to help them on a path to health and happiness."

Every physical body is different, which means that everyone of us may face a particular set of physical problems throughout our lives. One of the beauties of Pilates is that it can be customized to meet the needs of just about anyone. Private lessons allow teachers to work one on one and efficiently meet the needs of every client. Moreover, the smaller, more intimate classes at Body Precision Pilates ensure that every student gets the attention they need.

"Our instructors teach with their words, voices, and hands, and watch closely to make any necessary corrections so the client does not get injured during a wrong movement," Downey said. "This allows the client to get the most out of each class by working on every movement with integrity."

Creating this kind of intimate, nurturing environment has elevated Body Precision Pilates a step above many other studios of its kind in Pennsylvania. Those who have suffered physical pain from both injuries and chronic ailments experience immense relief in Body Precision's uplifting atmosphere.

"There is an energizing feeling at the studio as we also have clients who are healthy but want a challenging workout," Downey said. "The staff is friendly, caring, and very responsible. This leads to a happy and healthy environment."

As a training facility, Downey hires only the most skilled teachers at her studio. The committed teachers at Body Precision average from 5-18 years of experience and are not only highly skilled, but caring and thoughtful instructors. At Body Precision Pilates, when bodies are improved, lives become enhanced forever.
