Year-Round Fun at the Carlisle Sports Emporium

By S. Mathur

With go-karts, miniature golf, laser tag, roller skating and rollerblading, and arcade games, the Carlisle Sports Emporium is a year-round destination for indoor sports and family fun. Director of Sales & Marketing Julie Hill elaborates: "We host parties and events for groups of all different ages. These events cover a large range in age groups and offer activities everyone is sure to enjoy!"

All sports and activities are designed for both adults and kids. For example, there are three different kinds of go-karts: the Grand Prix, Super Slick, & Rookie. Grand Prix karts are for drivers 58" or taller and run on the quarter-mile outdoor go-kart track. Suitable for families, with a passenger option, in bad weather they can move to the state-of-the-art indoor track which is designed as a banked oval. Super Slick karts also run on the indoor track, and are for drivers 58" or taller. These high-performance karts, says Hill, are "...designed for the more experienced racer. Our older crowd especially loves to show their skills on this track as they slide around the turns and race friends, co-workers, etc.!" The Rookie karts are for younger drivers, over 45" in height.

Likewise, the laser tag arena offers different games for varying skill levels and age groups. Designed for adults but able to accommodate players from age 7 and up, the 40-minute sessions begin with a video introduction, vesting and review of the rules, and four 6-minute games. Not surprisingly, Hill reports that "Lasertron is one of the most popular party/event activities at our facility, whether it is for kids or adults.... The facility books a lot of events all throughout the year. We have a large clientele base of outings booked at the Carlisle Sports Emporium each year!"

The two 18-hole miniature golf courses are challenging and fully landscaped, and very popular with kids and adults. As is the skating rink, with its sound system, special lighting, DJ booth and snack bar. And of course the game arcade is a favorite destination, with the games that include Star Wars Battle Pod, the new Jurassic Park game, & Time Crisis 5. The carnival game wall, the claw games, ski ball and ice hockey, and racing are suitable for different skill levels and interests, with over 100 different games to choose from.

And to end a day or evening of strenuous games, there's the Victory Lane Cafe with a menu of pizza, wings, boardwalk fries, soft pretzels, chicken tenders, slushies & more. All told, the Carlisle Sports Emporium provides as much fun as you can handle, all year round.
