Color Bar Beauty Salon Does It All

By S. Mathur

Nicole Raptapolus, owner of the Color Bar Beauty Salon in Harrisburg PA, understands hair and hair color. She started her career as a stylist at Holiday Hair 17 years ago, and after two years moved to the Regis Corporation. Her expertise and clientele increased to the point when she felt the need to open her own salon.

"I felt I had to offer more to my clients then what the chain atmosphere was providing," she said. "I found an amazing location that was amazingly in my price range for me to achieve my vision. I wanted to create a better environment, team atmosphere for my clientele and my colleagues."

The modern, open look salon is an inviting place.

"Our clients feel at home enough to relax have a glass of wine and know their stylist is there to take care of them," Raptapolus said. "You are able to feel the team atmosphere my stylist have while your there."

The full-service salon offers cuts, color, waxing, and makeup, as well as wedding and special event services. Stylists are skilled in all areas, including men's grooming, color, Brazilian blowout, aqua hair extensions, Cinderella hair extensions and all ethnicities of hair. The salon even has its own traveling wedding team.

"As my girls came aboard the team they also have trained to perfect their bridal skills," she said. "My in house makeup artist is amazing and has trained in New York City. When you walk into the color bar you are immediately greeted by welcoming, outgoing personalities."

Wedding packages are customized down to every detail, including breakfast in the salon. Mimosa brunches can be organized for a more leisured morning. Clients can peruse wedding and other styling portfolios on the salon's Facebook page, and a wedding hair and make up trial can be scheduled two months ahead of the actual day. The wedding services are very popular and the team are already booked all the way into next fall.

Special offers and discounts are posted on the Facebook and Instagram pages. The salon can also host events like a girls night out. Stylists will discuss makeup with guests, helping each one find her the style that best suits her.

The salon supports charities like the PA Breast Cancer Coalition. Clients who donate necessary items receive a goodies bag and a special offer.
