Feel Like New Again at Noonan Massage Therapy

By Jake Levin

Patrick Noonan, LMT's background in physical fitness is extensive, to say the least.

The Philadelphia, Pa. native attended nearby West Chester University, where he won a gold medal as a national collegiate champion in boxing. Over the next several decades, he continued to stay in shape by running until that came to a screeching halt due to back surgery, where three vertebrae in Noonan's lower back were fused together.

During the rehabilitation process, Noonan received massage therapy as part of his treatment. The program made all the difference in the world to him then, just as it does today. Noonan was inspired by his treatments to open up his very own business, Noonan Massage Therapy, in 2013 after receiving certification from the Cortiva School of Muscle Therapy. The business has two locations: Warminster and Willow Grove, Pa.

"Noonan Massage Therapy uses a multitude of massage therapy modalities during every massage to meet the client's needs," Noonan said, listing methods such as Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, sports, oncology, trigger point, prenatal, myofascial and craniosacral. "Noonan Massage Therapy offers the complete package: walking into a calming atmosphere, to receiving massage therapy with knowledgeable therapeutic touch and leaving with a relaxed, yet alert mind, body and spirit."

Ethics and integrity are an important part of the foundation of Noonan Massage Therapy. As Noonan explained, in Pennsylvania, you cannot hang a sign and simply offer 'massage therapy' unless you are a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).

"A Licensed Massage Therapist in Pennsylvania must complete and pass the Pennsylvania State Board's required number of qualified classroom courses, preform practical massage, work clinical hours, and pass the Pennsylvania State Board's Massage Therapy examination," Noonan said.

The Warminster, Pa. location of Noonan Massage Therapy (600 Louis Drive, Suite 205) is described by Noonan himself as having pleasant light gray colors, pleasing pictures and relaxing music to establish the ambiance.

There are also Himalayan Salt Lamps inside the studio, which possess many health benefits themselves.

"The negative salt ions can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and calm allergy and asthma symptoms," Noonan said.

Clients may book either 60-minute or 90-minute sessions at Noonan Massage Therapy, but no matter which length they choose, they will never be rushed.

"We address all the clients' issues, as well as applying relaxing and reenergizing techniques," Noonan said. "Noonan Massage Therapy offers individual attention and takes the time necessary to therapeutically service its clients. We strive to spend the appropriate amount of time for educated therapeutic touch, addressing each individual's health needs during their session."
