The Pantry Cafe Serves Breakfast, Lunch, Desserts at Hershey Story Museum

By Kelly Church

Located inside the Hershey Story Museum in Hershey, PA, The Pantry Café is a sister restaurant to Hershey Pantry and Desserts Etc. Colette McNitt, General Manager of The Pantry Café, said that when approached about the opportunity to open up a restaurant inside the museum, everyone agreed it was a great idea.

"We all thought it was a great opportunity to be located downtown in Hershey," McNitt said. "We have been open about a year and a half and recently remodeled our kitchen in order to be able to provide a full-service menu for breakfast and lunch. We now are able to offer all the favorites everyone local loves from the Hershey Pantry, our sister restaurant."

McNitt said her favorite item on the breakfast menu is the stuffed French toast, made with Italian bread and filled with flavored cream cheese. On the lunch menu, she credits the Little Italy sandwich as her favorite. The Italian sandwich features soppressata, prosciutto, smoked ham, mozzarella, pesto and arugula on a baguette with a balsamic drizzle. The Pantry Café also has a dessert menu that highlights a wide range of house made baked goods.

"We have a case full of homemade desserts, cupcakes, brownies [and] all kinds of sweets, if customers just want to come and enjoy something sweet with a great cup of coffee," McNitt said. "Along with the homemade desserts, we also have Turkey Hill ice cream."

The dessert menu changes regularly, so McNitt recommends stopping by to see what's available. Additionally, the café serves Peet's coffee and has a full coffee bar.

The Pantry Café also hosts kids' parties. Kids' party menus include individual cheese pizzas, chips, cake and drinks. Parties in the café allow for one hour of dining time and can be planned to correspond with events that happen in the museum.

"Hosting a kid's party here is great because not only can we provide a great meal and wonderful sweets fro "There is a chocolate lab, chocolate tastings and the whole museum experience for kids and families to enjoy."

Catering is also available for large groups, with several breakfast and lunch options. Catering orders require 36 hours notice in advance to schedule, and 24 hours notice to cancel.

The Pantry Café is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The full menu for breakfast, lunch, desserts, coffee, parties and catering can be found online at
