Verge BodyMind Synchronizes Mind and Body in Wayne

By Paul Rowe

In 2004, Verge BodyMind opened with the intention of offering a simple and safe setting for people of all types to enjoy the enduring benefits of yoga practices. Beginning with one practice studio and 18 weekly classes, Verge BodyMind has evolved into a large enterprise with three practice studios providing over 80 weekly classes. In addition to yoga practices, Verge offers many mindfulness training and strength-based fitness classes.

The Verge yoga experience synchronizes mind and body in three ways: foundations, flow, and stability. Through the practice of slower moving, non-heated foundations, yoga lovers explore variations of stability poses in a supportive environment of yoga professionals. Stability is where mindfulness meets movement, focusing on building a strong repertoire of poses. Most importantly, flow connects your breath and body, allowing for the peaceful sense of connection to one's self that yoga lovers cherish.

If this feels complicated at first, fear not: Verge has many yoga classes directed specifically towards yoga newcomers. For 13 years, Wayne yoga newbies have delighted with Verge's monthly Brand New Beginner Series.

"This 4-week program includes instructional classes and a month of unlimited weekly classes. We've taught thousands of newbies in this fun program," founder Cara Bradley said. "Many of our teachers started in the BNB: it's a rite of passage at Verge."

From the moment they enter Verge's calming space, new students and established yoga practitioners alike begin to unwind and relax. Verge's studios are fantastic spots to hang out and gather one's thoughts before a yoga class. Prior to class, Verge's studios remain quiet places of respite for meditation, contemplation, or warming up. It isn't a rare sight to see someone you know engaged in deep meditation here: Verge BodyMind celebrates its community friendly atmosphere.

"Verge is place where everyone knows your name. We're the Cheers of yoga," said Bradley. "The moment you walk in our doors you'll be greeted by a "steward," and will slide right into friendly and unintimidating atmosphere. As you make your way through our halls you'll encounter students of all ages with yoga mat and towel in hand."

Students at Verge BodyMind genuinely appreciate the consistency of Verge's unique classes and highly-trained teachers. These dynamic experiences are as flexible as the yoga instructors that teach them. Classes accommodate the busiest of schedules. Whether it's 6:00 am or 7:00 pm, there's a class for everyone. At Verge BodyMind, flexible scheduling supports stability of practice.
